Jewellery Care Guide

Your Raniska jewellery is created to carry personal meaning for years. With a little mindful care, each piece will keep its shine and character, ready to be cherished, worn, and eventually shared with generations to come.

14K Solid Gold

Daily Wear
14K Solid Gold is durable and resistant to tarnish, making it perfect for everyday use. Still, removing your jewellery during activities that involve harsh chemicals or abrasive surfaces will help protect its shine.

Storage
Store your pieces separately in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box to prevent scratching. Keeping items away from other metals helps maintain their smooth finish.

Cleaning
To refresh your gold, soak it in warm water with a mild soap, then gently brush with a very soft-bristled toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and gently pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Finish up with a quick polish with our Raniska polishing cloth. For a deeper clean, you can use a gold-safe jewellery cleaner.

Avoid Chemicals
Perfume, lotions, chlorine, and household cleaners can dull the surface over time. Apply beauty products before putting on your jewellery, and remove pieces before swimming or using cleaning products.

14K Gold Filled

Daily Wear
14k gold-filled jewellery is more durable than gold-plated pieces and can withstand everyday wear beautifully. Still, removing it during workouts, swimming, or activities involving sweat and friction will help extend its lifespan.

Storage
Keep your jewellery dry and store it in an airtight pouch or a soft-lined box when not in use. This helps prevent oxidation and keeps the gold layer looking bright and smooth.

Cleaning
Clean your gold-filled pieces with warm water and a gentle, non-abrasive soap. Use a soft cloth or a very soft toothbrush to remove buildup. Avoid harsh scrubbing to protect the thick gold layer. Rinse and dry thoroughly before storing.

Avoid Chemicals
Perfumes, oils, lotions, sunscreens, and cleaning products can cause dullness over time. Apply beauty products before putting on your jewellery and remove pieces before swimming especially in chlorinated pools or saltwater.

Polishing
Our soft Raniska polishing cloth can help restore shine. Avoid abrasive jewellery cleaners or cloths meant for solid metals, as they may wear down the gold layer on gold-filled pieces.

Sterling Silver

Daily Wear
Sterling silver naturally develops a patina over time, but wearing it often actually helps slow tarnishing. However, remove your silver pieces during activities that may expose them to sweat or chemicals to keep them looking their best.

Storage
Store your sterling silver in a cool, dry place - preferably in an airtight pouch or anti-tarnish bag. Keeping pieces separate prevents scratches and slows natural oxidation.

Cleaning
To clean your jewellery, use warm water and a mild soap, gently wiping with a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. For tarnished pieces, use a silver polishing cloth or a silver-safe cleaner. Avoid paper towels or tissues, as they can scratch the surface.

Avoid Chemicals
Exposure to lotions, perfumes, hair products, chlorinated water, and household cleaners can speed up tarnish. Apply beauty products first, then put on your jewellery. Remove pieces before swimming or exercising.

Polishing & Maintenance
A regular buff with a sterling silver polishing cloth helps maintain brightness. For pieces with intricate details or heavy tarnish, a professional clean can restore full shine.
